When displaying on a TV, there are 2 options, Duplicating your display so both your computer and TV show the same thing, or extending your display so that you can drag what you are showing to the tv but see something different on your computer.
To change this, go to your desktop, right click, and chose Display Settings. From there you can pick your monitor and choose to Duplicate/Extend it.
NOTE
The layout at the top of the page indicates the location of Monitors in respects to each other. (ie. If the TV is showing beside your monitor, you would have to drag your window that direction to get to it)
